Ingredion is in search for an individual that has the ability to identify, research, evaluate and select suppliers that meet the global organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply and provide analytical support services for the global procurement initiatives and projects. This is a key corporate role and an opportunity for someone who enjoys being part of dynamic sourcing team working alongside corporate engineers utilizing cross-functional support of Legal, Tax, Insurance, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Finance Groups. Application of business acumen in the creation and utilization of internal spend analysis, external market benchmarking and trends, technology assessment to meet specification needed for Capital Expenditure/Manufacturing supplier categories. In this role, the individual is expected to have prior knowledge in bridging commercial and legal agreement terms, includes risk management with eventual contract execution. The analytics combined with subject matter expertise particularly negotiation skills will be instrumental in the definition and execution of strategic sourcing plans from ideation to contract completion. This individual will compose and effectively communicate project charters, develop KPI’s, execute sourcing and track progress against plan. Besides procurement knowledge, the candidate is expected to have working knowledge of industrial and process equipment, quality essentials, food safety, occupational health and safety.

Analytics combined with subject matter expertise in benchmarking; seeing opportunities; TCO; ability to read and understand specifications/work scopes; negotiation strategy elements; and knowledge in legal contracts are vital.

Besides procurement knowledge, the individual is expected to have working knowledge of industrial and process equipment, quality essentials, food safety, occupational health safety, trades (Mechanical, Electrical, Construction, Piping, Instrumentation, Piping etc.), rates, statement of work, risk and insurance

This role is well suited for you if you have a passion for:

Work closely and assist on all sourcing events with Project Managers and partners from Ingredion manufacturing plants globally

Provide insights on category spend and savings opportunities based on experience working with other category teams or industry standard methodologies

Ability to prepare periodic macro-economic summaries and be able to explain the relevance

Ability to read and understand vendor neutral specifications and preparation of all needed business documentation

Prepare and launch RFQ/RFP events, analyze vendor responses to level all qualified RFP responses on pricing and all qualitative metrics

Conduct analyses in support of supplier negotiations. Create supporting data and materials for partners in negotiation strategy and preparation

Provide support in the development and execution of purchase contracts for Capital Goods and Services utilizing Ingredion purchase agreement templates

The nature of the position will at times require working outside of the normal working hours and business travel on an as needed basis

We are seeking an individual with the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with a focus in supply chain, business or engineering

A minimum of three to five years of demonstrated Procurement experience in Capital

Engineering orientation with experience in reading, interpreting and contributing to specifications, engineering data and drawings

CPSM/CSCP certification is a plus

Green Belt or Continuous Improvement certification is a plus

Strategic sourcing knowledge applied within an Industrial process and food manufacturing categories a plus

Negotiations within a corporate setting

Other Skills:

Proficient in use of e-sourcing tools, and familiarity with reverse auctions

Negotiations in corporate setting

Expertise using Microsoft Office tools (Microsoft Access and SharePoint)

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Effective business report creation and presentation skills

Knowledgeable in using SAP
