TIC Gums is seeking a highly dynamic college student to join the organization for an internship in the Global Sourcing/Procurement department for the summer of 2019. The Procurement Intern will support the department in analyzing raw materials in the respect of updating spend metrics to prepare the Sourcing Managers for vendor negotiations. This internship will coordinate closely with Supply Chain Planning to evaluate available inventories to determine purchase orders that need to be expedited. The intern will be responsible for tracking global shipments of raw materials and report any risks or delays to the Director, Global Sourcing, and be responsible for collecting data on supplier performance for the issuance of vendor scorecards.
As the Procurement Intern your responsibilities will include:
Working in TIC’s global shipping system to track ocean freight of raw materials.
Track vendor performance in our Procurement system to construct vendor scorecards.
Coordinate with Supply Chain analysts to identify raw materials that need to be expedited to satisfy customer demand.
Becoming familiar with TIC’s Sage X3 purchase order system to assist in creating purchase orders as needed.
Present raw material availability status, updates, and potential risks to the team and partners.
At completion of internship period, present recommendations for more efficient process changes

Qualified candidates will have:
Progress towards a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Logistics preferred
Minimum 3.0 GPA required
An ability to prioritize tasks in order to support and fast-paced business environment.
Availability to work full time (40 hours/week) between early June and mid-August 2019
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, e.g. making presentations and writing technical data/reports
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with statistical (Excel) knowledge is desirable
To be eligible for consideration, candidates must:
Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. TIC Gums does not intend to sponsor work visas with respect to this position or to provide this position as OPT or CPT.
Be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor’s Degree Program. If currently enrolled in an undergrad status, must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior.
